Estudio Tupi opened its doors in the spring of 2004 and is leaded by Andrea Vosgueritchian and Aldo Urbinati. Both architects graduated at Mackenzie in 2001. Andrea holds a MSc and a PhD by FAU USP (Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism, University of São Paulo), respectively in the Departments of Technology and Urban and Regional Planning; teaches at FAAP, having taught at Architectural Association London, Mackenzie and Escola da Cidade. Aldo holds a MA and a PhD in the same Architecture Association London, in History of Art and Architecture. Tupi is an architecture studio that, since its foundation, continually has the intention of making an experimental work that could investigate the critical dimension that the legacy of modern architecture has left us. For each work and design, Tupi develops a deep historical-projectual study, establishing a reflection of its own métier: of how architecture permeates everyday activities of the profession. Aldo Urbinati and Andrea Vosgueritchian are architects with international experience in the field of history and theory of art and architecture, as well as in the environmental and technological fields of building. Tupi works not only on the academic scope, but also keeps the doors open for projects of any nature, from homes and stores to conceptual and artistic interventions.
